Yoga Arava 2017
Kibbutz Elifaz, Negev, Israel
Come feel the magic of the desert November 2nd, 3rd and 4th with Jacqueline Logan and Eddy Toyonaga at Yoga Arava 2017. Throughout this magical weekend we will gather all around the Arava villages for deep yoga workshops with the best teachers in Israel and special guest teachers from abroad, while being embraced by the exhilarating desert landscape. We are looking forward to a meditative weekend in which yoga practice will gain a new perspective. In the main event we will gather for sunset yoga practice, an experience accompanied by live music, integrated with motion, and breathing the infinite desert.
The practice of Yoga provides us with tools for self realization or atman jnana. Atman is the true self and jnana is knowledge based on experience (and not intellect alone). Through conscious movement and breath work, meditation, focus, intention setting, deep relaxation and self study we build a sense of mindfulness giving us a platform to connect to our true self. Allowing us to step back from reacting to life and rather become effective participants creating the life we want to be living. A life with purpose.
The weekend together with Eddy and Jackie will include well rounded, vigorous vinyasa and workshop style classes with a focus on arm balancing, transitions and inversions. As well as yin yoga, meditation, pranayama, chanting and a few other surprises. The weekend will be approached with a sense of play and light heartedness with direction and encouragement towards using the practices for self reflection and discovery of a deeper connection to atman.
Jackie teaches Jivamukti yoga and Eddy teaches Power Vinyasa.
Expect to build Tapas (internal heat) while being moved creatively in challenging sequences to groovy beats. Be prepared to sweat and to meet your healthy edge. All types of postures will be explored including arm balances and inversions.
Jackie and Eddy will also incorporate some Yin/Restorative yoga throughout the Yoga Arava 2017 weekend to balance out the body.
All levels welcome but beginners will be challenge.
